Bonkers: Contributions

When I see some asking a person who may not have a job and needs one---one has to assume---to "approve" them giving them money to tide them over the obstacles of no income, maybe, I feel an uncomfortable lower gut pinch---something about that is embarrassing to everyone.

stevie711: Kenwood Park Trash

Maybe if the people using the park would clean up their own trash then there would not be plastic bottles in the ditch. I just wish for once the citizens would appreciate what others do for them.

Good and Evil and Obama

Jonah Goldberg
Wednesday, August 20, 2008

In the wake of the fascinating forum hosted by Pastor Rick Warren at his Saddleback Church in Orange County, Calif., everyone is focusing on the contrasts between presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama. More interesting are the contrasts between the intellectual-theologian Obama and the political Obama.

TyroneTerror: Obama's 143 days of experience ...

Is 143 days of experience enough to be President of the most powerful country in the free world? I think not.

At the risk of embarrassing poor Muddle, I have a few things to add to the above.

RMEAV8R: Has anyone experienced a Hit and Run in the APD District

RMEAV8R's picture

I just experienced a Hit and Run. Immediately, I realized that they were not going to stop and I then pursued to get the tag number reaching speeds over 100 mph hoping that a cop would get involved. While in pursuit, I called 911 and advised them of what occured and what my actions were and was advised to not follow but to get the tag number. I was able to catch up to the vehicle and get the tag number. After catching up to the vehicle, I unknowingly entered another district and again called 911. An Officer responded and advised that the accident occured oustide of his district and that he could do anything and gave me the number to APD.

atlantackr2000: Sandy Creek Volleyball

What in the world happened that the best setter around was cut from the almighty Sandy Creek VB team because her skill was not good enough? After the performance of the team this weekend with his other setter I wonder if the Coach is still holding his head high?

mac614: Peachtree City Fire

The Fire Dept. is scraping the bottom of the well according to one firefighter currently employed as a full-time member. After speaking with this gentleman again I was surprised at the amount of " disrespect " he had at the management of the department.

Bonkers: Interesting Blogs today

Muddle is back to philosophizing in great and enormous wads and wads of paper; even northern belle is gotten over her hangover and trying to read again--I don't know about red rooming; Git is after a name so he can demonize, or something, muddle's doerinner; I find it strange that our newspaper hasn't looked into the Christian College maybe coming here and muddle's situation; also, Tyrone has calmed down and apparently everyone in politics there is not a full-fledged crook; our taxes keep going up every week due to new calculations caused by the recession---or whatever the conservatives call it; T-Bone Pickens is trying to con us all into buying one of his windmills or some of his natural gas---the man is 80--what does he want?; Don Trump bought Ed Macmahon's house and is renting it to him---poor old Ed; Trump also sold his FL mansion named after his second or third wife, I think; maybe he needed the money to bail Ed out?; Reckon how many school-room trailers we can count at all our county schools this year?; Have they turned on the school-room A/C yet at all these schools, or is it supposed to be cool when school starts?; Is the one in the staff smoking lounge on?; I saw enough beer and wine in ONE Kroger yesterday to supply the whole county for a month----if all of the other breweries in town have as much--is everyone a drunk around here?; People are complaining about more Mexican restaurants and they are the only ones making money--maybe the Chinese also.

truthandjustice: Tyrone's debacle continues

The Tyrone council apparently followed Grace Caldwell’s hand picked “manager”Chris Venice when she recommended that the council eliminate impact fees to help build a new police station and town hall.

Bonkers: Defined Benefit Pensions

Meaning that someone gets a known amount of pension after so many years and it doesn't depend upon any kind of investment as far as the pensioner is concerned.

mac614: Unsafe practices in our community?

Did you know that the fire department in our community is playing games with our lives? (Peachtree City Fire Dept) I was recently talking with one of there members and was surprised to find out certain things.

JoAnn White: War on Georgia?

I want to thank Rick Ryckeley for his article on the Georgian/Russia war. I can't begin to tell you how I laughed when I read his article, not only because his sentiments were funny, but because I myself shared those same thoughts.

Bonkers: Inspiring Stories?

Every day while watching CNN or FOX, I hear the announcer say something about the "inspiring story" for the day! I think I know what inspired means, but I never seem to get inspired by their films! Yesterday forty people apparently flipped a bus off of a dead woman who was pregnant! And they said this sort of thing doesn't happen in NYC!

Zuzus Petals: THE VILLAGE AT LEXINGTON CIRCLE

We respect your right to express your opinions, please respect our right to do the same. Yes the people that live there and realtors that have sold homes there did choose to present their positive opinions as a group, because so many negative and completely incorrect statements have been published in the paper. Neither Peggy, Jo nor any one else had to help us organize and write a letter, we are quite capable here at Lexington. We simply would like for people to know our side of the story. The point is - The people that live here like their homes and their neighborhood, if you don't that's ok. I won't bash your home & neighborhood, please don't bash mine. All we’d like is a little mutual respect and consideration.

Zuzus Petals: THE VILLAGE AT LEXINGTON CIRCLE

Recently there have been many comments in the Citizen concerning the “The Village at Lexington Circle”. They have very obviously been from people who don’t know the facts. It’s time to set the record straight and get the truth from people who know what they are talking about. I think the people that live there and realtors that have actually taken the time to come out and see the property would qualify to do that. These are letters and emails that have been sent to me in the past few days. Please read what these people have to say about their homes and their experience:

Bonkers: Is it the blog or the town?

Now we have a Cuban it seems who preaches while cleaning up homes and businesses! Already has a following!!!!

We already had a former CIA murder operative at 19 who wrote a book about it, of all things! Makes no sense.

zoes: Being Involved

zoes's picture

(I am moving this from a response to a letter so it doesn't get buried too fast!)

I try and try to be involved. As I am able, I attend meetings and I consistently check the appropriate websites for agendas and minutes (which is often a waste of time). My biggest concern and feeling of helplessness right now involves the East Bypass.

Bonkers: Odd stuff this week!!

A 911 supervisor was "removed" in Fulton County for having an obviously incapable operator there for a long time.
She had 2100 Pages of discipline and reprimands---as big as an International un-edited dictionary!

Margot: The necessity of cleaning up government

The current investigation of Tyrone’s government is just one of many. Government is so rotten that it defies common sense for citizens to pay for it. Aside from the mass of incompetence and improprieties in Tyrone, just read the Atlanta Journal Reports. Everyday some government employee or official is being investigated, fired or sent to prison. For example, the Wed. Aug. 13 edition has two articles involving the death of a woman caused by an incompetent 911 operator who took one hour to get an ambulance to a 39 year old woman with two children whose life could have easily been saved. The investigation revealed the 17 yr operator had 2100 pages of reprimands in her file, including mishandling of calls, mistake, eating lunch and sleeping on the job. Sleep so soundly that one time she fell out of her chair onto the floor.

The idol worship just keeps coming, but this time I wonder who is worshipping who.

Now George Clooney is becoming a close confidant to Barack, emailing him daily, text messaging him and even talking to him twice a week to discuss foreign policy matters, including telling Barack of his Pro-palestinian plans.
