Bloggers coffee this Saturday?

yardman5508's picture

Anyone up for a bloggers coffee this Saturday, time and place TBD? This is open to all bloggers (and lurkers) who might want to participate in (or spy on) interesting conversation, friendly banter and the ubiquitous "cup o' joe". Keep the faith.

So, how was it, bloggers (spies and lurkers too)?

We did see an old guy kind of checking us out while trying to pretend that he was studying the rack of coffee paraphernalia, so maybe it was Bonkers/Sage/Dollars. Or maybe just a creepy dude who thought we were hot Smiling

Hutch came up with an awesome idea on how to save a ton of money with the US mail service: just give the mail to the Jehovah's Witnesses that are coming around to houses already!

What a great idea using the Mormons to deliver mail. They are all physically fit, young, used to walking and would look great in those little blue/grey shorts. No need for the little delivery trucks, would save on gas, etc. Bet they wouldn't mind coming up to your door with envelopes that won't fit into your mail box! No retirement benefits because I think they only stay in one area for two years before moving on. I'm sure Bonkers would know all about it and have all the answers. Way to go Hutch--and you came up with this idea with no alcohol involved--just caffeine! What a man!

I stopped at Party City and tried to find a "Groucho" mask, but I felt so old...nobody knew what I was talking about. One other "old guy" laughed and said HE knew what I was looking for. I was worried about one guy in the corner, but Hutch reassured me that he was harmless. Keep the faith.

I had a good time as usual, with five other bloggers (but no babes) showing up. Numerous security sweeps did not reveal any confirmed lurker sitings.

I'll have the front page of The Citizen displayed so that we will not be mistaken for some old guys club. I guess we better stop wearing our fez's. Smiling

Arguing with a bunch of liberals, with only caffeinne in me is pointless. I have to have something a bit more relaxing, for me to be able to tolerate the "No Blood for Oil" bumper stickers I'd see on the VW bus'es parked outside.

For me to be able to enjoy your company I will need Yeungling! But I've got good news. Yeungling is coming, per the store where I purchase my adult beverages.

Add to this fact, that the Buckhead Brewerey is being taken over by a bunch of illegals, and I think we might have found a good "after hours" place to meet and really tolerate each other's company.

So give me an evening venue, some medicinal beverages, and I might find a way to put up with some of the same drivel that I see on this list, but please, lets discriminate. I mean it. Let's discriminate against the likes of Lily/Bonkers/Sage plus anyone that 'outed' Muddle for being a surfer dude.

Sounds like a name for a panda.

I was informed by a waitress somewhere that Yuengling is a Chinese lager. I've believed that all this time. Turns out that it is brewed by "the oldest brewery in America."

But aren't lagers and pilsners--like spritzers--the preferred drink of pansies?

Real men drink full-bodied ales. Smiling

Speaking of Yuengling (the best beer in America!). Join the campaign (started in Newnan) to bring Yuengling to Georgia! My local liquor store and all my friends have been telling me Yuengling "is coming" for 3 years now, its always usually "in January.." I am getting very discouraged..

A well known fact is that the consumption of alcohol (regardless of the delivery system) affects the brain starting at the highest brain functions, with the reasoning area of the brain being the first one put to sleep. It is eminently logical therefore for a conservative to be more comfortable around liberals while your brain is in this condition (less friction = less heat and noise). Please do not operate a vehicle while your BOC is .08% or above with this adjustment.

of Bonkers' and Peaches' entities? Would probably have to be Turner Field to hold all of them--sure there are some we haven't met yet. Have an obligation that day but will try to make it once a place is decided on---I'm sure the shirkers and lurkers will be hiding out watching and ready to make remarks later. I can't remember, is it Hutch or Hack who is the 'stud muffin'? Isn't one of the 'others' madly in love with him? Should there be protection for him? Would hate to see him abducted to become someone's love slave.

Submitted by Bonkers on Wed, 08/13/2008 - 9:34pm.

Of course you also have an obligation! Maybe to lurk!

Submitted by MYTMITE on Wed, 08/13/2008 - 10:46pm.

To attend the coffee would not be an obligation but a pleasure. Just think of it--meeting nice people, having good conversation, voicing your opinions in a sane and civil way. Oh, sorry, you couldn't possibly think this way--it is not in your DNA. Maybe all those years you spent with the sheep, etc on that farm. But then, for sure, Dr. Doolittle, you AIN'T!! Remember to take your tape recorder and digital camera and wear your disguise. Perhaps, you should pretend to be a normal human being-that would sure fool everyone. Can't wait for your blog and assessment after. I always look forward to your skewed take on life.

Sorry I missed it. I have a long list of things to do before I go to Miami and spend the better part of the week. That is, if storm "Fay" does not interfere.

I'm slowly getting back into shape doing 10Ks on an elliptical. I did a 20 mile ride last week. But, I'm still trying to locate that bottle of industrial strength "fat-be-gone". You know, the one on the infomercial at 2:00AM on channel 400. Smiling

I struggled today with the little Shake Rag hill on the cart path because I have not been riding much, even on a machine that does not go anywhere. I did not know about this "fat-be-gone" product, please let me know when you find it. One of the other bloggers bought a muffin at Starbucks, but I abstained, due to the difficulty I am experiencing moving the mass that I have now.

August 16 is a big day for women politicos. Obama's people are having house parties - and Republican Women have been invited to get together by Cindy McCain. Otherwise, someday - I'd like to join you for good, quiet conversation!
