The NFL season is about to kick-off, and that means fantasy football freaks are out in full force. There is fantasy football information all over the Internet, and if you have been to a bookstore recently, you will find numerous fantasy football guides.

Well, I'm sure there are a lot of Falcons and Georgia fans who are saddened by the news that Falcons quarterback D.J. Shockley is done for the year after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament and injuring the medial collateral ligament in his left knee Friday against the Buffalo Bills in a preseason game.

It looks as though Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michal Vick is eventually going to jail on dog-fighting charges. The Falcons will likely release him and take a significant cap hit.

The 2007 college football season is set to start -- finally! -- and I recently thought about what game I'm most looking forward to watching. As a HUGE New York Jets fan, I would love to say Namath, but I'll go with Wuerffel. Yeah, you could easily make the argument that Wuerffel was a product of Steve Spurrier's system, but you cannot take away the fact that Wuerffel set numerous passing records and won a national championship and the Heisman Trophy. None of the aforementioned quarterbacks accomplished both feats.

If you had the athletic ability and talent to play for a professional team for one year, what team would you join and what position would you play?

I think that just about every sports fan owns at least one piece of sports memorabilia they absolutely cherish. I met Joe Namath in Atlanta at the NFL Experience in 2000, and he autographed a Jets mini helmet for me. It's by far my favorite piece of sports memorabilia.

If the Atlanta Braves could acquire one current player from any team without giving up anything, who would be the best pick for them?

I'll get straight to my question of the day: Is Nascar a sport?
