When one of the current middle generation loses their home to foreclosure, the discussion goes something like this:

"when we get rid of this expensive house let's celebrate!" "Won't it be wonderful not to have the big payment every month?"

The present Wall Street catastrophe was first blamed on dumb poor people buying homes for no down payment, no closing costs, and temporary low payments and interest rates.

I don't know who causes the AJC to promote the Bulldogs as much as they do and also the Atlanta Falcons.

By promote I mean they don't call it like it is but find reasons for everything that is wrong, and make up stuff too quickly.

I am concerned that the possibility of building a school and having homes built on or near a landfill and the longterm effects might be.

33 South Fulton Firefighters received their lay-off notice Tuesday Night. Their last official day will be October 7, 2008. Several of these firefighters are special operations personnel involved in Hazmat and Technical Rescue. This is a major loss for South Fulton due the fact that we are near one of the largest industrial business districts in the south east. These firefighters required many of the South Fulton tax payer’s money to be trained.

My husband and I wanted to have dinner at Big Daddy's, but found out that this is a "SMOKING" restaurant. We wanted to go and have a good dinner but won't because of this.

We finally seem near the tipping point that enough of us are absolutely sick of GOVERNMENT. Everywhere we turn there is more and more.

I look forward to reading your column whenever it is published in my local newspaper. Knowing your vast background in economics I have often found myself wondering if you have ever taken a look at the Fair Tax.

I have always been an enthusiastic supporter of our local schools and was a vocal supporter of the 2000 bond referendum. As an elected official, I participated in many projects with the schools in Peachtree City.

On occasion, when local pressure by emotional groups causes outreaching publicity, some police departments will show their arrogance and stretch legal abilities.

Generally, I am for other institutions of higher learning using our schools at night and in the summer for educational purposes. Seems an unneeded waste to let them set empty about 65% of the time when the use of them doesn't appreciably deteriorate them.

Doesn't the City Manager work for the Mayor? Oh, I forgot, the Manager and the Chief of Police work for no one.

Anyway, it appears that the two could have picked a more reputable business in which to be involved! Are they that free of work?

Just found out about a Arts and Craft fair in the New Old Town Sharpsburg. Been to a few of the festivals in sharpsburg and boy they were great.

I can not stand by and let some say that the "surge" has succeeded--Bush's favorite word.

What happened was we bargained with the devil and paid off the same Iraqis that were in the majority before the war, to help control certain areas and we would equip them (as we did the Taliban, before they whipped the Russians).
