I thought it was interesting because it was at the Values Voter Summit, that Sarah Palin had planned on attending, where Ray's "coming out" was discussed with great intensity by Greg Quinlan, a man who supposedly "prayed away" his own homosexuality.

Sarah Palin's church is a proponent of converting gays through the power of prayer:

Obviously, Ray is a devoted Christian who celebrated his love for God through his music and some of the reactions to Ray's coming out, are just astounding:

And those highlighted quotes were from "Christians" ranting against Ray, for being a homosexual and against the Christian music industry for "promoting" his music. There's a link to those comments in my original post.

(btw - there are a lot of normal Christians that strive to live their lives as righteous, loving, non judgmental people...there are several here on this blog actually that seem to be true Christians (cyclist, git, muddle, Hutch, Jeff, sniffles, yardman, Hack, Jane and Tug) however, I only write about the crazy Christianists that strive to impose their religion on the rest of normal society.... Since we're on the topic of wacky Christians, did you see the video of the African witch doctor praying over Sarah Palin in her tongue talking, devil casting church? It's very insightful, as he speaks in detail about how important it is that "believers", like Palin, infiltrate our country on all levels of society, so they can carry out their "tasks from God." The witch doctor in the video stresses the importance of transforming and influencing society in the areas of the Economy (only Christian bankers and leaders running our financial institutions), Politics, Education (10 commandments should be in our schools, God should take over our schools), Media, and Government (we need more "born agains" in higher office). Sarah Palin steps into the video around minute 7:10, but the entire video is compelling and provides additional insight into Palin's religious beliefs.

I believe that it was the Taliban that tried to institute these same types of controls in Afghan society and we all remember how that has turned out. The question is, will our country follow the same theocratic path laid down by the Taliban in Afghanistan, only with a Christian spin? Maybe not in our lifetime, but in our children's, or grandchildren's?

Okay, so we differ on who we worship. That is okay, it's our freedom here.

Ray Boltz is one of my gay friends. I can't believe you found one of of my gay friends. Well, I probably thought someone would and bash him.

I will continue to be his friend until I die. What I believe is in the bible I read I Corinthians 14:33 clearly states "God Is Not The Author Of Confusion." I do believe Ray is a Christian. How could God give him songs like you talked about? Did you listen to them? God gave Ray these songs. Ray knows being gay is not what he believes. I continue to pray for him and my other friends.

John 8:1 - 11 scribes and Pharisees had caught a woman in the act of adultery (the woman commonly referred to as the prostitute) and told Jesus who was teaching in the temple that the Mosaic Law required she be stoned to death. Trying to make an opportunity of this to trick Jesus that they might accuse Him, they, with stones in hand, asked Jesus what He says about the Law. After Jesus tried to ignore their repeated questioning, He told them "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." One by one each man dropped his stone and walked away.

Do I believe God made us gay. No, I don't. That would be saying God made a mistake. God made a he but should have made a she or God made a she but should have made a he?

Christians are not perfect. We are forgiven when we pray and ask. The only one perfect is God. Why should I throw stones at Ray?

I am not ashamed to be his friend.

Is cheating, killing, all the others sins less than being gay? No.

I know for a fact God gave Ray those songs. Do you know him?

Would it be different if it was Rich Mullins? No. Brothers Keeper is a great song. I think God could have given Rich that song to remind us of God's message.

Are we flawless? No. That's why we need a Savior. Again this is only my view. I do try to go by scripture. My words are nothing. It's God's word that matters.

The man was a husband for many years, a father of 4 children.

It's a personal matter, he is expressing his own feelings and interest nothing more and nothing less. He could have chosen to remain closeted and did not.

It does not mean he is any more or less the things he has been all is life.

The fact is there are probably many more like him in his church, your church, your work place that are bi sexual or gay. They are like the average man and woman, working through life with the sames issues we all have.
