Air Shows and School Buses!

Generally, I am for other institutions of higher learning using our schools at night and in the summer for educational purposes. Seems an unneeded waste to let them set empty about 65% of the time when the use of them doesn't appreciably deteriorate them.

Not so true with buses however. We need them to last maybe 10 years before replacement, and they will if maintained properly.

Trying to make money on them for an Air Show by charging by the mile, etc., doesn't add years to their tenure. Strange drivers, rough treatment by adult riders, parking in the dirt and bumps, skipping possible maintenance done on the week-ends, and jeopardizing our insurance coverage, doesn't make much sense.
Not to mention the whiskey and beer and hot dog smells!

Passing diseases between adults and kids isn't very smart either.

"Non-Profit" Air Shows and such are fine, but they are for job creation, personal satisfaction of certain people in the business, and actually help no one in my opinion.

Doesn't the exceptions the state of GA allow blow your mind? Boy Scouts and 4-H Clubs! Do the Girl Scouts also get to use them?

Strange drivers? NOPE. The air show hires FCBOE bus drivers off-duty.
Wear & Tear on the busses? 2 days a year driving back and forth between Starr's Mill High School & Falcon Field. So what?

I told you why not.

The what is: It is illegal!

Who pays for a wreck and several are killed?

They make buses for this sort of thing and they can be hired!
