Parents who would like to receive their child’s CRCT scores over the summer can request a copy by mail.

A self addressed, stamped envelope with the child’s full name (first, middle and last) and grade level written on the front must be turned into the child’s school no later than May 26.

Police to put HEAT on bad drivers

Law enforcement agencies across Georgia are conducting a crackdown on dangerous, aggressive and high-speed drivers.

The campaign is called “100 Days of Summer HEAT.” The acronym stands for “Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic.”

Hospital hosts blood drive

Piedmont Fayette Hospital will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross Thursday, June 8 from noon to 5 p.m. on the third floor of the hospital’s 1279 building, located west of the main hospital campus.

BoE trade: Sewer line for a cart path

Peachtree City’s latest foray into providing sewer for out of city residents received unanimous approval Monday from the Fayette County Board of Education.

Why is sewer important?

For the most part, unincorporated parts of the county are unsewered, meaning residents rely on septic tanks for wastewater disposal. Residential septic tanks require a significant portion of an acre for the drainage field, in effect limiting the smallest county lot sizes beyond sewer lines to one acre or more.

The Target store at Fayette Pavilion is looking to move up in square footage. Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission May 9 heard a presentation of the development plans and a variance request that would add more than 9,000 square feet of mostly office space while decreasing the number of parking spaces. Target representatives were instructed to bring position letters from neighboring businesses and the Fayette Pavilion owner to the May 23 regular session.
