Earth Day bags

Patrons of the Publix at Summit Point recently had their groceries packed in decorated bags featuring the artwork of nearly 200 East Fayette Elementary students.

In celebration of Earth Day, students in grades one, two, three and five decorated the paper bags with images reminding people to take care of the earth and protect its natural resources. Publix used the bags last month to deliver Earth Day messages to their patrons.

Retired East Fayette teacher Patty Rogers organized the project.
