Two Fayette Middle students recently had the honor of participating in the wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers in Arlington National Cemetery. Seventh graders Jordan Zehren and Kate Jablonski earned the distinction of serving as wreath layers after winning a grade level essay contest. Jordan's poem titled “Labeled Unknown” was written in the voice of one of the entombed soldiers while Kate's essay, “A Remarkable Way of Life,” reflects upon the dedication, commitment and patriotism of American servicemen. The students visited Arlington National during a seventh grade field trip to Washington, D.C. login to post comments |
