Woman arrested for child crueltyA Fayetteville woman was arrested Friday by police for cruelty to children after a spanking left deep bruises on her 5-year-old son that lasted for two days. PTC SWAT team ends standoff with burglary suspectPolice say suspect refused to exit home and threatened to shoot officers The Peachtree City Police Department’s SWAT team forcefully apprehended a suspect who barricaded himself in a home in the Wynnmeade subdivision late Monday afternoon. Officers went to the home of Tyler Ash, 20, at 205 North Meade to execute a search warrant for a residential burglary and forgery case, police said. Steve Zombik, the head chef and co-owner of Sun Dried Tomato, never thought he would own, or want to own, a restaurant. Zombik had been an executive chef at hotels in New Hampshire, Boston, and Jamaica before moving to Peachtree City and serving as the executive chef at the Wyndham. His plan had been to keep moving up to bigger and bigger hotels but the desire to set down some roots proved stronger. After some time as the owner of Hangar 74, Zombik and his wife, Cindy, created Sun Dried Tomato and the rest, as they say is history.
Smith on target to be Eagle Scout after building courseAlex Smith is set to bring a unique and exciting sport to Fayetteville.
