Peachtree City or bustFri, 06/15/2007 - 1:44pm
By: Ben Nelms
It just had to be Peachtree City. So said two men from Henry and Spaulding counties eager to purchase a half-pound of “ice” methamphetamine at Home Depot. The surprise for 56 year-old Hampton resident Earnest Toney and Griffin resident Jon Bottrell, 35, came when undercover agents thwarted their plans and placed them under arrest for criminal attempt to traffic in methamphetamine, according to Fayette Sheriff’s Drug Task Force Capt. Mike Pruitt. Toney was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, Pruitt said. Pruitt said undercover agents wanted the deal in Fayetteville but Toney insisted the drugs be purchased in Peachtree City. The men were arrested after handing over $6,500 in cash to agents. login to post comments |
