The Fayette County Bunny Busters placed second in the junior varsity division, grades 9-12, of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Georgia Skeet and Sporting Clays State Championships.

The team, which shot a 535 out of a possible 600 targets, features Alex Karl Hendrix of Senoia, Jonathan Lancaster of Brooks and Cory Nordlund of Peachtree City.

Georgia teams participating in the state title shoot qualified for their sport's upcoming national championships. Skeet and sporting clays national titles will be decided July 13-15 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio. Trap national championships are slated for Aug. 5-7 at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Ill.

The best of these young shooters could be selected to attend an Olympic development camp in August in Colorado Springs, and some will go on to compete at the collegiate level.

I thought "Bunny Busters" was the name of the snooty blue-blood organization that tried to keep Playboy off of convenience store racks?

What's next? Hooters Shooters? Sticking out tongue

In any event, congratulations to the team! Good work with them shootin' irons!

Probably no one doubts that you found ways to get Playboy (Penthouse, too, maybe?) at an early age. Sad

"Hooters Shooters" -- New video game you're playing? Violence & sex all in one game?!?! How novel!

"Creepy" how you can turn any subject into a sexual topic.

Vicious: Given to vice, immorality, or depravity, as well as spiteful and malicious

Maybe you should spend more of your time looking for burning buildings and victims (of all ages and stages) to rescue!

I love to see young people involved in shooting sports. Congratulations to this team and good luck on your future participation and in the Nationals in San Antonio.

I just wish Fayette County would open a public shooting range for pistol/rifle so we could develop young peoples knowledge and skills on those as well.

It's on Hwy 314 and anyone is welcome to go in and shoot.

Forgive me if this seems like a plug but Autrey's is a good place with some great people. They have some of the finest guns available anywhere at great prices. The shooting range there is convenient and well constructed. If you need a place to shoot, do what I do and go to Autrey's Armory. As a lifelong shooter, I like to stay sharp and Autrey's is one of my favorite places to shoot. (I am not related, nor is any family member related to anyone at Autrey's Armory.)

On a more related note: We actually have quite a few young shooters in PTC and Fayetteville. This is (at minimum) the third year in a row we have had a youngster attend Nationals.

Way to go kids - enforce that second amendment right and shoot straight!

If WWII had been covered by the Modern Media: Great Video

Yup, mixer I agree 100% about Autrey's Armory. They have good people working there and provide good service. Great place to practice.
