Nitpickers: Public Information OfficersWe apparently elect people anymore who are incapable of briefing the public about public services. They pay someone to be told what to say, and they say it. Nitpickers: This fellow, John LinderWho I thought was a Libertarian, at any rate is a republican, is proposing in today's newspaper for the Federal government to resolve Georgia's water problem! dkinser: A vote that may change the face of Peachtree CityTomorow many of us will step into our assigned voting precinct and we will help to decide the future of Peachtree City. Two seats are to be filled and I'd first like to thank those that have served and dedicated their time to this great city. Fyt35: Football playoffsMike, Kevin or anyone that may know. Do you have any idea what the possible playoff match-ups could be for our local high school teams? boxwing: Glad Tyrone Elections Over Tomorrow...... so the blogs can revert back to being about how bad it is in PTC! oldbeachbear: Now you've gone and done it! So I'll give Matilda a hand!ERIC DIAL AND THE STATE COURT JUDGE Atlanta Journal-Constitution Georgia has seen its share of corporate takeovers -- Atlanta-based BellSouth absorbed by AT&T; Georgia-Pacific swallowed up by Koch Industries. Now we're about to see an attempted corporate takeover of a very different target: the Georgia Supreme Court. Tyrone90210: BARRY AMOS, Answer this:Why did you tell Jesse Nasancieno that he had to resign from the planning commission in order to run for town council? Why did you not tell Mike Smola that he had to resign from town council to run for mayor? Git Real: America's 25 Richest CountiesTyrone90210: THE CITIZEN'S OWN STEVE BROWN SUPPORTS TYRONE'S DON RENWALD, TRACY YOUNG, & GORDON SHENKLESteve Brown – writer/staff of The Citizen TYRONE. Post 2 is mostly between Eric Dial and Gordon Shenkle. Shenkle has been a definitive citizen advocate in the public forum (council meetings, newspaper) in the past on slow, controlled growth. He has clearly stated that increased sewer capacity would result in increased housing density and more traffic, etc. On the other hand, Dial is a lobbyist by trade and takes a stance on property rights akin to not wanting mandatory tree buffers and letting developers run amok in the community. oldbeachbear: up the bet! Eric DialI've waited and no takers! Maybe we will form our own "coalition" and offer the people who can give us the true confirmations of questions earlier posed, Tyrone Aries: Doo Doo DudleyBeen waiting all evenin' for ya to get home from church.....what's up? Tyrone911: FINAL ELECTION PREDICTIONS FOR TYRONEMAYOR: COUNCIL: POST 1 YOUNG over MATTHEWS johenry: 5th try and Councilman Harman still won't answer questions before election4 questions Councilman Harman STILL won't answer before the election! Oh he can wave on the street, but he can't answer some simple questions. McDonoughDawg: Train Quiet Zones..Has PTC ever looked into this?Establishing a Quiet Zone There are both Federal and State regulations that govern the sounding of train locomotive horns. Federal regulations called the Final Rule on the Use of Locomotive Horns at Highway-Rail Grade Crossings, 49 CFR 222 (“Horn Rule”), require that trains sound their horns as a warning to highway users at public highway-rail crossings. California Public Utilities Code Section 7604 requires that trains sound their horns at all private and pedestrian crossings as well. matildagene: Wittle EricTyrone90210: The Citizen's Editor in Chief Supports Don Rehwaldt, Tracy Young & Gordon Shenkle in TyroneBy Cal Beverly "Candidates who should — and who shouldn’t — be elected My recommendations are: Don Rehwaldt, Tyrone mayor another concern...: Harry heintzI didnt know coach heintz personally. I just knew of him. I did however see alot of the positive things he did with the boys at the school. Appalled: AppalledI attended the Tuesday meeting of the "committe" to re-district our Fayette County Schools. I was appalled by Sam Sweat's conduct. He is the "committee" of one and if you don't agree with him, he reverts to his "bulldozier" technique of simply running over you. When a discussion began regarding concern about the lines drawn that would begin bussing students who now walk to and from school,Mr. Sweat immediately said we should not start adjusting the lines and stick to the numbers. I am insulted that he is comfortable referring to our children and families simply as numbers. However, I was most disgusted when he began yelling at the Spring Hill representative, demanded that she sit down or be escorted out by the Sheriff's Deputy because she was making him mad. Mr. Sweat should be ordered to make a public apology to Mary Beth since his demeaning attitude and comments were very public. Fayete County students and parents deserve better!!!! TyroneConfidential: Dial: Win or Lose or Draw in the Eyes of ManyIn just two short months Eric has gone from a well liked and respected man, who no one had any reason to doubt. What a shame, he slayed himself. I think Eric’s original intentions were good. But in his over-zealous attempts to further his political career, he made bad decisions. I sincerely hope that Eric will come forward and redeem himself by explaining all these questionable happenings. If Eric wins he will become, a minority of one on the Council. His every word and vote will be analyzed by the same people who have fought for years to change our government. If Eric had been fighting with us all along, he would have been a hands on favorite to support. We’re very sadden by events of the last two months. We very much admired the Eric Dial we used to know. Smola, Amos and all the rest who have made Tyrone government a mockery will be gone and Eric will be alone in the crowd. jondough: Rehwaldt, Rehwaldt, He's our Man -Rehwaldt, Rehwaldt, Rehwaldt - you are the best person for the job of Mayor and you have my vote - as far as the rest of them DA'es - I am voting AGAINST DIAL for SURE!! I like Jesse Nas a little more than I used to. d.smith700: vacuousOne of our egg-heads on here used the subject word to describe a preacher. I Watch: Is a Council Seat Worth $7,500?That’s the amount of money paid to Eric Dial so far in Election Contributions. His strongest opponent Gordon Shenkle received $400 and Jesse Nasianceno got zero after refusing to go along with Eric Dial and Michael Smola to get Jesse Nasianceno to change from Dial’s opponent in Post 2 to Post 1. Are the Tyrone citizens supposed to believe that Eric Dial who had never been to a Tyrone Council Meeting until September 2007, was suddenly their savior in government given his prior lack of participation. Eric Dial emphasizes his work at Tyrone Elementary and his participation in Youth Sports. Did these groups fork out $7,500? If so, Why? Neither Education nor Recreation is an issue in this election. Town Management is the main issue as evident at the Candidates Forum and reported by Ben Nelms in the Citizen Paper. Eric Dial raised 19 times the amount of money given to his opponent Gordon Shenkle. Of the total contributions for all candidates of $12,744, Eric Dial raised 58% of all money given. Voters can only surmise by looking at the facts. Eric Dial’s office is in Scarbrough Realty Co. Barry Amos had said that Developer Brent Scarbrough would put in sewer pipes free to connect to Peachtree City. NOBODY DOES ANYTHING FOR FREE, especially a Developer unless they expect favorable zoning - of high density in this case. Barry Amos is allied with Michael Smola. Eric Dial allied himself with Michael Smola. Barry Amos and Michael Smola are for sewer. That’s all the facts we know at this time. So, IS ERIC DIAL FOR SEWER? DID DEVELOPERS BUY A SEAT ON COUNCIL FOR ERIC DIAL? WHY IS A $400 PER MONTH COUNCIL SEAT WORTH $7,500 IN TINY TYRONE? I Watch: Something about Tyrone's Candidates Platforms Doesn't Make Sense.Politics Makes Strange Bedfellows Michael Smola states in his Campaign Literature that he wants to keep the Zoning Laws in place. This means that he wants to keep Ordinance 454 which took away Property Rights, “on his watch”. Therefore, Michael Smola does not support individual Property Rights. Emma Bovary: Thanks Fyt35!Thanks, Fyt35, for your kind words about the success of the Tigers. It is refreshing to hear a parent from WHS say something--anything-- positive about my child's school. matildagene: Eric Dial says he not a real lobbyist ..Read thisGeorgia has seen its share of corporate takeovers -- Atlanta-based BellSouth absorbed by AT&T; Georgia-Pacific swallowed up by Koch Industries. Now we're about to see an attempted corporate takeover of a very different target: the Georgia Supreme Court. Tyrone90210: EVERYONE SUPPORTS DON REHWALDT, TRACY YOUNG, & GORDON SHENKLENot only does Cal Beverly and the Citizen newspaper support and endorse Don Rehwaldt for Tyrone's new Mayor, Tracy Young for council post 1 and Gordon Shenkle for post 2, but I do too. chippie: Wanted: Details when Tigers will be on Comcrap this weekendOkay, Comcrap made a big deal about taping the Fayette County/McIntosh game all week, and said it would be televised "sometime" today and tomorrow. No details on exactly which channel "somewhere between Ch. 22 & 26" nor exactly what time the game could be viewed - just told to "check the listings." The listings don't have a thing about any football games being televised this weekend, and the never-helpful telephone people at Comcrap tell you "this is a repair service only number" and when asked for a customer service number, you're told they don't have a PUBLIC number to give out for info about listings! iDidntDoit: Cal, any info?Cal, do you have any details about the burglars that Fayette deputies caught on Friday? Heard it was somewhere in the n d.smith700: muddle and red herringsSeems to me that Senator McCarthy, the famous alcoholic republican senator of the 50s, used red herrings (hearings) to try and blackball most of hollywood writers, actors, etc., for attending meetings that weren't democrat or republican! matildagene: ERIC DIAL AND THE FEMALE STATE COURT JUDGEState's highest court isn't for purchase Atlanta Journal-Constitution Georgia has seen its share of corporate takeovers -- Atlanta-based BellSouth absorbed by AT&T; Georgia-Pacific swallowed up by Koch Industries. Now we're about to see an attempted corporate takeover of a very different target: the Georgia Supreme Court. |
