Public Information Officers

We apparently elect people anymore who are incapable of briefing the public about public services. They pay someone to be told what to say, and they say it.
Even Peachtree City has one.
The Sheriffs and Chiefs, etc., will speak briefly occasionally, but only in high profile cases when elections are near, and only once usually for a short, brief time. They are the ones who mention the ultimate cooperation between sixteen adjoining counties and municipalities to solve the crime, or even to not solve the crime. The FBI usually got the snitches phone call was what happened, but it comes across as something like: we happened upon this evidence with our stringent investigators(phone answerers)and we are making very good progress---help us, Please?
