Republican Linguistics 101If you grow up in Hawaii you’re “exotic.” Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, you’re the quintessential “American story.” Republican "Change"This is the kind of "change" Palin and McCain will bring to Washington? "Earmarks" for the family....cool! "The governor's daughters and husband charged the state $43,490 to travel... Sarah Palin's Churches and the "Third Wave"I'm posting this because I believe it is important for voters to know the candidates that they will be voting for in November. Much has been posted about Obama's church and the subject of a candidates' Church and religion appears to be very important to many voters. Here are some facts and observations regarding Sarah Palin's Church and religious beliefs that should be considered, since she MAY be just a heartbeat away from the Presidency: A Bit of Political Humor because we take this stuff too seriously sometimes.James Taranto, from Best of the Web on the Wall Street Journals website, gave this interesting tid bit of humor. I thought I'd share it, well, because its funny, and because its true, IMHO. Palin’s speech – no home runGov Sarah Palin’s performance last night was not a home run. It was a Grand Slam. McCain Campaign Strategy: In a masterful stroke (reminiscent of Bill Clinton’s successful co-opting of numerous key Republican issues in his successful bid for the Presidency), McCain’s VP pick has successfully co-opted Obama’s message of “change”. McCain’s campaign strategists must be commended. They have not wasted time on Obama’s weaknesses. They have successfully undermined his perceived strengths. They turned his popularity into a liability. Now the Dems “change” message rings hollow. All words. No deeds. Rove, O'Reilly, Hannity - Hypocrites1) Rove slams Governor (fill in the blank) for being small-time Mayor of smallish city, saying VP pick would be purely political. PART 2 of THINGS SENATOR OBAMA HAS SAID ...8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book). February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as 'one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.' This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says 'Obama's narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.' THINGS SENATOR OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AREN'T EXACTLY CORRECTTERRY ANDERSON, A BLACK LOS ANGELES TALK RADIO HOST, WENT DOWN A LIST OF THINGS THAT SENATOR OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AREN'T EXACTLY CORRECT. The sheep are so easly distractedIsn't it funny how we sheep always fall into the trap of talking about abortion. Palin: "If Pledge Of Allegiance Was Good Enough For Founding Fathers,It's Good Enough For Me" Hey Gov ... you said this in 2006 and someone might have wised you up... Palin faced recall in her 1st months as Mayorfor firing the Police Chief and the Library Director. Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin fired the city's police chief and the library director without warning Thursday, accusing them of not fully supporting her efforts to govern. Irl Stambaugh and Mary Ellen Emmons said letters signed by Palin were dropped on their desks Thursday afternoon telling them their jobs were over as of Feb. 13 and that they no longer needed to report to work. Palin on SEX ED / abstinence-onlyIn 2006 candidate Palin said she would fund abstinence-only education programs in schools. "The explicit sex-ed programs," she added, "will not find my support." The stance, which reflected the priorities of the GOP, nevertheless led to an incredulous editorial in the Juneau Empire. Assumption of the Risk- Living in New Orleans.Albert Einstein once said, that the definition of insanity, is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. The Affirmative Action Presidential ElectionHistory will look back on this election as historic, but the short term effect of having an Halfrican American or an X chromosome American being elected gives this a lot of media attention. But, the real history that is being created will be the effect of these decisions in decades to come. McCain has lost itThe old one has truly lost it. Palin might be the most wonderful person in the World but she is NOT qualified to be President of The Most Powerful Country in the World. What was he thinking? He cares nothing for this Country, if he can pick a VP, who is a soccer Mom, with 5 kids, Good God. I don't care if she is/was the Governor of Alaska. Of what, under a million people. SHE IS NOT QUALIFIED! McCain met her once. How can you get to know someone after one meeting. You Can't! Jimmy Carter's New LowJIMMY'S NEW LOW McCain chooses Tina Fey look-a-like......and former beauty queen as his VP. In an obvious attempt to capture disgruntled Hillary supporters, McCain tapped hockey-mom and Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin (no relation to Michael) as his VP (Palin is currently under investigation for "abuse of power"). Big Contradiction from the Denver DemsThe Big Contardiction from the Denver Dems Who will Hillary vote for in November?Last night, Where was the ringing endorsement of Obama’s character, leadership and readiness to be Commander-In-Chief? Nowhere. Her tepid support of Barack Obama and extremely self-centered remarks will prove to be her own political eulogy. It also leaves little doubt about who she will be voting for in November. Bill, Chelsea, and Hillary will all be voting for John McCain. Because, it’s all about the Clintons. How dare the Dems nominate a novice instead of a pro? When Obama loses the election, be prepared for a big Shrillary, “I told you so.” Clearly, her eyes are set on 2012. My learned, reasoned, and scholarly reflections on Hillary's speech last night....It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Funny how "less government" always seems to cost this country money...http://blogs.venturacountystar.com/greenberg/qqxsgFiscalConservative.jpg Valerie Plame v. William Ayers. Many on this website, blogged over and over again, about the Valerie Plane affair. (see JeffC and Hack's comments) "Treason! Impeachment! Politics at it's worst!" was blogged over and over about Scooter Libby, Karl Rove, and George Bush. McCain Throws Women Under the Bus plus Reinstating DraftMcCain puts his ambition first, before his personal beliefs, and declines to push to change the Republican platform for 'abortion exceptions' in cases of rape, incest, and/or danger to the life of the mother. Another McCain flip-flop which should send a signal to women that he will put his own ambitions ahead of a woman's right to control her own body, even in cases of rape, incest, or health. First McCain/Obama Debate- Above his pay grade?I've been out of town and missed the first showing of the Rick Warren's debate at his Church on Saturday night on CNN. (Thank God for TiVo.) "Open Season" on Dem's and LiberalsIt was extremely disturbing to hear about Arkansas State Democratic Party Chair Bill Gwatney being shot dead yesterday at the State Democratic Party Headquarters. This sounds eerily similar to the recent Unitarian church shooting by a wacko because of the liberal leanings of that particular church. Obama, Tire Pressures and, the Exploitation of Oil ResourcesIf Obama is right, then when is he going to start pushing for mandatory government inspection of tire pressures and tests to ensure automotive engines are running at peak efficiency throughout the realm? McCain and Obama on ImmigrationVoted YES on comprehensive immigration reform. (Jun 2007) McCain Voted YES on comprehensive immigration reform. (Jun 2007) Obama Obama - You must believe it because he says soObama has been a champion of early childhood education since his years in the Illinois legislature, where he led the effort to create the Illinois Early Learning Council. |
