Last night, Where was the ringing endorsement of Obama’s character, leadership and readiness to be Commander-In-Chief? Nowhere. Her tepid support of Barack Obama and extremely self-centered remarks will prove to be her own political eulogy. It also leaves little doubt about who she will be voting for in November. Bill, Chelsea, and Hillary will all be voting for John McCain. Because, it’s all about the Clintons. How dare the Dems nominate a novice instead of a pro? When Obama loses the election, be prepared for a big Shrillary, “I told you so.” Clearly, her eyes are set on 2012.
Some Dems are still wondering why Obama didn’t pick her. Give them a break. After all, they are Dems.
During Operation Chaos, I worried that Limbaugh’s strategy would prevent Hillary’s nomination and could eventually backfire. Pragmatically, I wanted Hillary to win the nomination because I believed she was unelectable. What better way to end the reign of the Clintons? Her negatives were so large, so insurmountable, that I wanted her to win the nomination, and lose the election. Then, once and for all, we would be able to forget the Clintons. With the nomination of Obama, Hillary is still in play. Or so she believes.
But as things worked out, she is a loser either way. She may run in 2012, but she will not even win the Dem nomination. She is damaged goods. 18 million Dems pinned their hopes and dreams on her this time around. Too many are disappointed. She will never again be able to rally that kind of support. Once burned, twice shy. The folks who jumped onto Hillary’s bandwagon during the primaries will hesitate mightily next time around. No one wants their heart broken twice.
