for firing the Police Chief and the Library Director.

Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin fired the city's police chief and the library director without warning Thursday, accusing them of not fully supporting her efforts to govern. Irl Stambaugh and Mary Ellen Emmons said letters signed by Palin were dropped on their desks Thursday afternoon telling them their jobs were over as of Feb. 13 and that they no longer needed to report to work.

"Not fully supporting her efforts to govern" seems to have meant, "supporting her opponent, John Stein, in the 1996 election"

This led Police Chief Stambaugh to sue for breach of contract.

HE lost his case because unless stipulated in the City Charter the Police Chief serves at the behest of the Mayor.

Why did McCain not Vet this woman ?

The city charter said she could, the fired chief sued and he lost. That's a scandal?

I thought you - jackyo - under a different name was calling for Chief Murray to be fired because of some situation I don't recall. What was that?

IMHO, a mayor who actually takes charge and runs a city is a great public servant and one who would make a great VP.

The mindless attacks on her show me that the leftists are scared sh***ess and will do or say anything at this point.

McCain's team has arrived in Alaska to finally vet Palin. The dirt and slime on her is starting to ooze out now.

Regarding 'TrooperGate' Palin was FOR Walt Monegan before she was against him. Her office is admitting that they did indeed pressure Monegan to fire her ex brother-in-law.

87% BELIEVE THAT PALIN IS LYING

Is all oozing from you.

But then, that's just what we have learned to expect from you.

Keep up the bad work. Got any more preposterously salacious details?

Don't keep the world waiting. We all want to see just how low you will go.

Oh gosh, Ruthie, I'm takin' a break for a while. But I must admit, the past 72 hrs. have been a blast, watching the Repub ticket slowly implode. Don't worry, I'll have some additional posts soon. (Can't take the heat, huh? You come across as being the queen/king/droid of dirt and slime, from all your Obama posts. Come on, grow some and take it like a man.)

I won't be surprised if Palin withdraws her name from the ticket soon due to 'personal' reasons, you know, for the sake of her kids and such (family values platform, remember).

Oh, check out her church and her pastor - it seems he blames Israel and the Jewish people for being bombed and terrorized... he calls it something like 'God's judgment' on the Jews, or something. I wonder if Sarah got up and left the sermon when he said that? Hmmm, she's been going to that church, listening to that pastor for a long time so those wacky views he spouts must be ingrained in her psyche now - don't ya think. Wow, Palin is going to have to explain her involvement in such a radical church. Eye-wink

Granted, these are not MSM sources, but are bloggers in Alaska getting the word out. So much of what has come out of this campaign, both Dem and Rep, has been initiated in the blogosphere and turns out to be accurate and some info turns out to be bogus:

Learn about it, mkay.

It's where so much of the truth originates. Much of the lies too (Obama is a Muslim, etc.)

He met this woman once for a few moments 6 months ago.

Try looking online at Times of London for a start, Huffington Post,,it's the new world it's called Internet reporting which most TV has forgotten to do.

They just are presenters of what they are fed.

I don't understand how this happened. The crisis within the Republicans is reaching its climax. Just trying to compare Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin gives me the creeps. I think they selected her to appeal to the evangelicals, though now it seems that family values don't run well in the family (the daugther decided to eat the cake before marriage and is expecting a baby that she MUST have for the sake of the election).
An old grumpy pops and a soccer mom for the most powerful political position in the entire world...only in (conservative, evangelical) America!!!

McCain really pulled a fast one on you Lib-tards, selected the best VP candidate no one ever thought of! Best part is she'll be more eligible to be POTUS than Shrillery -- haaaaaahahahahahahahaha!! You've had a GREAT run with your empty suit the last few months -- here it comes! Let's roll . . .

He probably was behind it and Haliburton would have the contracts to rebuild.
