The American Red Cross is issuing an emergency call throughout Georgia for all eligible donors who have type O positive or O negative blood to give blood immediately. The supply of type O blood has fallen to little more than a half day and the Red Cross is currently able to fill only 30% of hospital requests for these crucial blood types, say Red Cross officials.

New city begins discussing zoning ordinances

Starting up a new city involves a lot more than just taking a vote or electing a new mayor and council. Such is the case with the new City of Chattahoochee Hill Country, where city ordinances and a host of other municipal functions must be in place when the city begins operations Dec. 1. Juvenile curfew in effect

There is a change coming to unincorporated south Fulton County. It is one that affects juveniles up to age 17.

Fulton County Commission has imposed a curfew for juveniles and began Friday posting signs outlining the new measure. In a move that will be strictly enforced, the juvenile curfew ordinance will be effective Sundays through Thursdays from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. Restricted hours for Fridays and Saturdays run from 12:01 a.m. until 6 a.m. the following day.

Blood drive in PTC on Monday in honor of local woman

The Gathering Place in Peachtree City will host a blood drive on Monday, Aug. 6 from 4-9 p.m. in honor of Fayetteville resident Kristen Allen. Allen, the mother of two children, will be having brain and spinal surgery on Aug. 13 and could possibly need blood transfusions. Allen’s blood type is O Positive, which means she can only accept O Positive and O Negative blood. There is a tremendous shortage of O blood in the state and the nation. The blood drive on Monday is seeking all types of blood though to make sure that it is available for the people who need it.
