A Tyrone business owner was denied an exemption to the town’s sign ordinance at Thursday night’s town council meeting.

Ken Lawhorn of Reflections Auto Detail Shop on Ga. Highway 74 said his business is located behind a large hill that prevents visibility from the road. A Tyrone ordinance prohibits signs within 60 feet of Highway 74.

Councilman Paul Letourneau offered to send a letter to Advance Auto Parts, located next door to Lawhorn’s business, requesting that they assist Lawhorn with the signage issue.
