Developer Tom Reese once again swatted away any notions that his mega-development of McIntosh Village was off track.

The 1,500-acre development, located on McIntosh Trail in unincorporated Coweta County, would be one of the region’s biggest developments with more than 3,100 homes and 600,000 sq.ft of office space.

Coweta County kicked off a new employee service award program in July with a luncheon honoring all employees who had achieved a milestone anniversary from January through June of 2007. In addition, to help bridge the old program with the new program, all employees with more than 20 years service were invited to lunch as well.

Senoia taxes on the rise

Taxes are on the rise for residents in Senoia who had their property reassessed this year. On Monday, the Senoia City Council approved the millage rate at 6.11 mills. City administrator Richard Ferry,, presented the breakdown of millage rate and said 18 percent of the city’s tax base industrial, while 9 percent is commercial, and 73 percent residential. There were no public comments and the rate was agreed to unanimously.
