Schools Jump Onboard To Help Honor Flight

Honor Flight Fayette has taken off with students throughout the Fayette County School System.

A call went out to schools in March asking them to help the nonprofit organization in its efforts to send local World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit their memorial. Honor Flight pays all the costs of transportation, including meals. It costs approximately $400 per person for the one-day excursion.

One of the region’s biggest employers is going to get a little bigger.

Early Monday evening, Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines announced an agreement in which the two carriers will combine in an all-stock transaction with a combined enterprise value of $17.7 billion, creating the word’s biggest airline.

Newest Reese development gets OK

Developer Tom Reese’s ambitious plans for a new subdivision in Senoia cleaned a major hurdle Monday night.

The City Council signed off on a development agreement and approved the first read of an annexation request for 268 acres on Ga. Highway 16. Reese plans to build Fieldstone Estates, which will feature 265 lots and leave 142 acres as open space.
