Parents wanting to make sure their child safety seat is installed correctly can now make an appointment for a professionally trained volunteer to do just that.

After calling 770-631-2097 to make the appointment, parents will meet the volunteer at the Peachtree City Fire Station on Paschall Road for the appointment.

The volunteer will check for proper installation, check for any manufacturer recalls and ensure the seat is matched to the child’s height and weight. The volunteers are trained by a nationally-certified program.

The effort is being provided by Fayette Safe Kids, an organization made up of members of the Fayette County Health Department, Fayette County Board of Education, Peachtree City Fire Department, Fayette County Fire Department, Fayette County Sheriffs Office, Fayette County Marshals Office, Peachtree City Police Department and the Fayetteville Police Department.
