More than 1,000 motorcycles may ride into Senoia April 26Thu, 04/10/2008 - 3:16pm
By: John Thompson
The last weekend of April is going to be a busy one in Senoia. The City Council Monday approved closing portions of two streets for the city’s first Motorcycle Meet April 26. Baggarly Way, along with Barnes Street will be closed to its intersection with Main Street to help accomodate the large crowd of visitors. The event is sponsored by the city’s Downtown Development Authority and organizers are urging everyone to hop on your Harley, Victory, Kawasaki, Honda or any other kind of motorcycle and make your way to historic downtown Senoia for the event. The downtown area will welcome riders from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. with fellowship, food and entertainment. Chick-fil-A, Churn 'N Scoop Ice Cream, Hawaiian Shaved Ice and other vendors will have food for sale, along with Redneck Gourmet, Maguire's Irish Pub, and Senoia Coffee Company. From noon to 1 p.m., Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, will be signing books, including his newest, “How Did You Do It, Truett?” at Table Talk. The famous "Moo Cow Band" will be performing their own brand of Dixieland music from 1 to 5 p.m. Sponsors of the event are BlackJack Motorcycles, Great South Harley-Davidson, The Shoppes on Main Street (Table Talk, Traditions Framing, Steel Magnolias, You’re Invited and Beyond the Door) and the Senoia Downtown Development Authority.
