Senior Center offers new classes to keep you in stitchesBreak out the needle and thread – sewing shops and fabric stores say they have noticed a sizeable increase in the number of people taking classes and purchasing sewing machines and notions. Sewing, once considered a hobby for little old ladies, has joined knitting and quilting as the new pastime for 20 and 30 somethings to Babyboomers. It's a national trend that's sweeping the country. It’s relaxing, fun and it’s considered “cool” to be seen carrying knitting needles and quilting blocks. Scouts open house for new membersBoy Scout Troop 75 recently held an open house at Peachtree City United Methodist Church to give current local Cub Scouts the chance to check out the troop and learn about Scouting at the next level. Meetings always begin and end with the presentation and retirement of the colors as Boys Scouts led their guests in the Pledge of Allegiance. Legacy auditions for ‘Oz’The Legacy Theatre has announced youth company auditions for "The Wizard of Oz." Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the theater, 1175 Senoia Road, Tyrone, Ga. This audition is for ages 5-17 only and will be for the youth company of our professional production and summer camps. All those auditioning will be asked to sing either one chorus or 16 bars from a song of their choice a cappella and learn choreography. There will be a sign-up sheet the day of auditions. Everyone will audition on a first come first serve basis. Miss Pride Pageant seeks former queensThe Miss Pride Pageant, which will be held on March 28 and 29, is looking to reunite as many queens from the past 40 years as possible.
