The Women in the Outdoors program will host a shooting day for ladies on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. at Autrey’s Armory. The $45 fee includes an afternoon of shooting, refreshments, first box of ammo and, as a special gift, all participants will receive a one year membership in the WITO program. Members receive the WITO magazine, member decal and card. The event will also include a silent auction, games and light refreshments. This basic course focuses on the fundamentals of handgun shooting using classroom instruction and live fire exercises. Topics covered in this course include: firearms legal issues, basic handgun nomenclature and operation, handgun maintenance, storage and carry, ammunition selection, loading and unloading, fundamentals of marksmanship and basic handgun shooting skills. Please feel welcome to bring your own handgun and ammo if you choose. If you do not own a firearm or would like to try something different, several will be available for a $5 rental fee. Girls age 14 to 17 are invited to attend with a parent or guardian. Autrey’s Armory is located at 116 Bethea Road Suite 118 in Fayetteville.
