GuidoJochim: Greetings from Germany

Dear Scott,
We were looking for some 'sign of life' of the Kretschmann-people ... and found your picture in the Citizen. This is good news, and everything seems to be o.k.

You can't seem to articulate any reasons the latest map won't work. Again, none of the three schools were overcrowded.

Once upon a time, many many moons ago, there was a son of mine who had a friend with a handshake like his.
I could hardly tell the difference in the two handshakes unless I was looking them each in the face.

Yes. Much more than I am hearing people say they do on this particular blogging site.

"Sixty-two percent of active-duty respondents expressed some degree of optimism that the U.S. will succeed in Iraq , up from just 50 percent last year."

Kevin Wandra: Music: the soundtrack of my life

Kevin Wandra's picture

I love sports, especially football, but I have many other interests, one of which is music.

My days would be bland without music, the soundtrack of my life.

When Hillary Clinton said, way back in New Hampshire, that Vladimir Putin "doesn't have a soul," I figured that would be the sort of thing the Russian wouldn't be pleased about. But when I called the foreign ministry the next day for comment, it was Orthodox Christmas, and I let it slide.

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

My thoughts on this years election is really quite simple: To me, there is no other viable choice other than Barack Obama.

Shadow08: Sir Paul vs. Heather Mills if you Care

Shadow08's picture

OK, just got to get this off my chest Sir Paul, the Beatle gets married to Heather Mills aka: Stumpy. He’s on the rebound, statistically a man who loses a spouse will be remarried in a very short time, meets this good looking, well spoken, much younger (Unbeknown to him Gold Digger). He is worth 1.5 BILION plus or minus. Four years later Stumpy is not happy with Sir. Paul or with the 50 Million Dollars (Pounds Conversion) divorce settlement he offers, peg-leg wants more. Yes they have a child together, and yes, I believe that the child will be WELL taken care of, but come on Stumpy; He was willing to take you in when no one else was! My Gosh, he could have had anyone he really wanted, landed you 3/4th women you use to be. Maybe he was slumming or just looking for something strange, who knows. Ok enough, I hope Captain Peg-leg gets her money before setting out on the SS. Vagtastic Voyage in search for another quick score. May you walk the plank and you find it difficult to swim, no worries, the sharks will give you professional courtesy.

ethicalgovernment: Rehwaldt-The First 100 Days

To the fine folks of Tyrone:
I don’t know if you folks realize it but tomorrow marks the first 100 days of your new Tyrone Town Council. Of course for the first 55 days we met in private, outside of the public eye, and in violation of the Georgia Open Meetings Act. Gracie said it was o.k., we weren’t sworn in.

ddodge: police building

Come on already. Don’t spend any more money on the pile of junk building that may never be right. Surly a new building can be found in PTC that will not have the potential problems that the existing building may continue to have. I don’t believe that a new police building has to cost in excess of 5 million as reported. For that much money, we can hire three shifts to guard the “evidence room” that is reported to add to the costs. STOP already and think about it.

If this conversation on here about who is going to what school is any indication of the leadership in this county, then maybe there is more to it than whether or not too many minorities go to one or another of them!

Saw where a group called Voodooblu was playing at Mulligans on March 15,16. Recommend anyone that likes electric blues to check them out....very good band with great guitar work and vocals....Saw them at Alamos in Newnan not long ago and was definately impressed.

TyroneConfidential: State Senate Bill 372 is a necessity for Tyrone

The Bill would mandate locally appointed Ethics Boards to monitor every City and County Government and School Board for violations of ethics. Proponents of the Bill say its overdue because citizens with complaints have no way of being recognized without filing a lawsuit. Local Government Officials often ignore complaints and this was always the case with past Tyrone Officials. Opponents of the Bill are of course Government Officials who don’t want to be held accountable. Most Governments have Ethics laws but no vehicle to enforce them. Tyrone previously had a Citizens Complaint Board and lawsuits were minimal, but when Barry Amos became Town Manager, the Board was eliminated. Citizens are now limited to blogging and suing as their only outlet. Tyrone’s Council should take it upon themselves to reenact an Ethics Board. Appointments could be approved by majority Council vote. Better still, make the Board a 3 member elected office. As with Bill 372, the Ethics Board would have subpoena powers to investigate valid complaints and make recommendations to the Council, who would still have the final say so on punishment. Mayor Rehwaldt, please take the lead in proposing an Ethics Board to Council.

sageadvice: Baseball Steroid Hearings

Roger Clemens and his trainer, Mr. McNamee, PhD., were the ones being questioned. McNamee said he gave Clemens steroids at Clemens request, Clemens said he didn't know it was steroids and had only asked for pain killer and vitamins. The good Dr. also gave Clemens wife a shot in the butt, supposedly without Clemens knowledge. She was in some kind of beauty contest for a health magazine, or something.
