PTC rewrites rules to eliminate time limit on political signs

Thanks to Georgia lawmakers, Peachtree City has had to water down its sign ordinance.

A new statute passed by the General Assembly has forced the city to remove its time limit restrictions for political signs, according to City Attorney Ted Meeker. The newly amended ordinance was adopted Thursday night by the council.

Huddleston Pond repair delayed

Repairs to the spillway at Huddleston Pond won’t occur until the spring, according to Peachtree City officials.

The fix was initially projected for this month, but the problem was more extensive than originally thought and the pond level has been lowered at the recommendation of the consulting engineering firm to reduce the risk of a dam breach, officials said.

United Way has announced that the 2007 United Way Community Impact Fund grant process is now open to eligible participants. The Community Impact Fund awards one-year grants to local organizations with programs aligned with Fayette County United Way community priorities.
