The Fairburn council Nov. 13 voted to postpone consideration of a lease of the old courthouse to the Old Campbell Historical Society over concerns raised by residents of St. John’s Crossing subdivision. St. John’s Crossing residents also wanted action from the city on issues such as area crime, clarification of the question over ownership of a greenbelt strip in the development and suggestions on ways to resolve shoddy construction problems faced by homeowners.

Two males were arrested and woman is being sought by Fairburn Police in connection with a Sept. 3 armed robbery at the Family Dollar store in Hudson Plaza.

A pair of Clayton County residents were charged on multiple counts in a Nov. 1 Union City home invasion. The arrests were aided by a camera at the residence that recorded the incident.

Tyrone’s annual tree lighting holiday celebration is set for November 28 from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the Triangle Park Gazebo, across from the post office on Senoia Road.

The Tyrone Town Council will hold a special workshop next week to discuss what to do with unused impact fees.

Last week, Town Manager Barry Amos revealed the town was looking at refunding nearly $64,000 in impact fees to developers because the town had not done anything significant in efforts to build a new town hall and police station.

The Sandy Creek High School Talent Show was October 24 at the school’s auditorium.
