And the winner is...

The Sandy Creek High School Talent Show was October 24 at the school’s auditorium. Grand prize winners from the left include Mike Young, Michelle Martel, Caleb Hurst, Trenton Turner and Kate Welch. They called their group “The 1,2,3,4s” and played an original rock tune called “Seeds of Change”. There were 21 acts total with the winning group performing in the first slot. The prize money awarded was $100. The guitar club moderator, Mr. Martin, matched that sum making the total winnings $200. Photo/Special.

I'm just waiting for the first ambulance chaser liar... oooppps lawyer... to come out with the gratuitous "race card" lawsuit.

Apparently if you "pitch a fit" in clayton county you get your own way....I guess they thought they would try that here and see what happens

"They" are former Clayton people people, you know that. Anything further said would be prejudicial, wouldn't it? Some heritages work loudly, others work under cover--just the way it normally is! The Klan used to be under cover and loud.

Why didn't you also report that once the winners were announced, all the blacks in the audience walked out in protest that it wasn't a black group who won?

...it was a bunch of RUDE STUDENTS that did so, and not EVERY SINGLE black person. One lady (black lady) sitting behind us sighed and said "I'm SO EMBARRASSED". It was a large contingent of black students (about 30 or 40) who were rooting for a crowd favorite (dance group). The group was funny, but their performance went longer than the 3 1/2 allowed minutes (points get deducted after that). When it was announced that this group placed 3rd in the group category, their "fans" proceeded to boo and all left before the rest of the winners could be announced. They had been rude during the whole performance, talking and laughing and standing up during the show.

The tension was so thick after the show that you could cut it with a knife. I was very glad for the police presence there. As some of the winners left the building, some of the "fans" of the non-winning group yelled out expletives (YOU S***!).

Sad that this great school that we moved from Clayton County to get our kids into seems to be degenerating. Makes me glad our son is a senior this year.

I wonder if there's even going to be a talent show next year?
Why can't people just act civilized?
