On December 2, the city of Senoia kicks off its holiday festivities with “Light Up Senoia,” a colorful Main Street parade and celebration. The holiday spirit continues December 10 with a “Candlelight Tour of Homes”.

“Light Up Senoia” will include live music, decorated floats, the East Coweta High School marching band, and music provided by Jim McKnight. The “Car Guys,” Charlie Filkins and Scott Sargeant, will emcee the event. For the kids, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there along with pony rides and the lighting of the big tree. Parents may bring their cameras to take a photo of their child with Santa in his sleigh. For hungry spectators, the food court with Chick-Fil-A, barbeque, pizza, and homemade baked goods opens at 4 p.m. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m.

The December 10 “Candlelight Tour of Homes” features five historic homes along with the sanctuary of the 1897 Senoia United Methodist Church. All will be decorated for the holidays. The tour will be from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the event. Tickets will be available at the Culpepper House, Gail’s Antiques and the Senoia Coffee Co. For further info, call 770-599-8182 or 770-599-9155.

The events are sponsored by the City of Senoia and the Senoia Downtown Development Authority. Area groups and businesses are invited to participate in the parade by registering with Suzanne Helfman at 770-599-8182 or Gail Downs at 770-599-9155.
