The cart path bordering the Gables Apartments along Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City will be closed for about a month starting Monday, city officials said.

During the closing, path users can access the Stevens Entry/Walt Banks Road area by going north along Peachtree Parkway from the Peachtree Crossings shopping center to Interlochen Drive, which should be taken east back to the parkway where a new path leads north to Walt Banks Road. The Walt Banks Road path crosses the parkway at a four-way stop for auto traffic.

The cart path tunnel under Hwy. 54 near the stretch of closed cart path will remain open, providing access to Peachtree Crossings.

The path closing is necessary to renovate sewer lines in the area, officials said.
