Impact fee discussion tops Tyrone’s agendaThe Tyrone Town Council will hold a special workshop next week to discuss what to do with unused impact fees. Last week, Town Manager Barry Amos revealed the town was looking at refunding nearly $64,000 in impact fees to developers because the town had not done anything significant in efforts to build a new town hall and police station. Movie theaters coming to Union CityThings are changing in Union City. And its more than a change in name. The reason the incident occurred is not known. New high school opening in 2008Another school is going up in South Fulton. This time it is South Fulton High School on Hall Road. The school is situated on 128 acres and is expected to serve 1,850-2,000 students beginning in the 2008-2009 school year. Fairburn juvys armed robberyFairburn Police have arrested a 14 year-old male and are seeking a 15 year-old on armed robbery charges in back to back incidents Oct. 24. Palmetto home invasion suspect soughtPalmetto Police are seeking a man in connection with an Oct. 31 home invasion. Residents in the home sustained no injuries in the incident. Roque and Eddie Saavedra it was not the usual day on the beat. By noon time Tuesday the officers had apprehended two of the men sought in connection with the armed robbery of a Peachtree City bank just minutes earlier. The robbery at the Kedron Village Wachovia bank along Ga. Highway 74 was followed by a high-speed chase and the apprehension of two suspects as they emerged from a wooded area adjacent to Fieldstone Manor subdivision on Plantation Road. Legacy Theatre’s marquee may be doomedBethany Smith wants everything about her new theater in Tyrone to be first-class. Last week, she approached the Town Council about allowing a 1940s old-fashioned marquee to be placed on the front of the building. Smith explained she had already scaled down the number of bulbs, and wanted the theater to be the showplace for the area. |
