Last month in The Citizen, I discussed how Fayette County listings above $300,000 were feeling stressed. Today I am sorry to report that total sales of Fayette County single family homes took a nose dive in July – falling by 17.6% from the June sales rate. The market segment taking the largest hit was listings between $200,000 and $300,000. This is the “sweet spot” in Fayette County, and July sales fell by 35.8% from June.

As of July 1st Fayette County Single Family listings above $300K comprised 58.7% of the active Fayette listings in the Georgia Multiple Listing Service. This percentage has remained relatively stable since I started tracking listing metrics in April 2007. During the same period, around 25% of Single Family listings in neighboring Coweta County were in the above $300K market. In both counties, sales performance of these high-end market segments is not a cause for celebration among sellers and their agents.

If you have been even remotely associated with Real Estate in any way over the last thirty years or so, it is very likely that you have had the pleasure of meeting and/or working with Judie Leveritt. Judie battled cancer about seven years ago and has been cancer free.
