A shoot out Tuesday morning between an armed robber and an armored car guard in front of a bank on Ga. Highway 138 in Union City resulted in a hail of gunfire and the robber fleeing.

Fairburn electric rates on the rise

Downtown business gets OK

A request designed to locate a general contracting and consulting business at 290 Arrowood Road was approved Thursday by Tyrone Planning Commission. Board members agreed to amend the Land Use Map to from Commercial (C) to Office (O) and to the rezoning of the one-acre site to OI (Office-Institutional) over the current R-48 (Residential) designation.

Planners turn down more office space

Tyrone Planning Commission voted 3-0 Thursday to deny a rezoning request that would have added office space to a two-acre tract on Dogwood Trail. Commissioners decision was bolstered by several neighbors that believed rezoning the property from residential to office would essentially move the Market Hill development in their back yards.

PTC homes to get annual stormwater bill by April 1

Peachtree City residents can look forward to just one bill a year from the city’s fledgling stormwater utility.

That means, however, that the bill will be bigger than the $2.69 to $6 per month for single family detached homes because the bill will represent 12 months. So the actual bills themselves, once mailed to city property owners, will be in the range of $32.28 to $72.
