Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Winpak Films, Inc. is expanding its current operations in Senoia.

“Winpak is a respected international company that has found great success in Georgia,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “I am very proud that this great company has chosen to expand in Senoia.”

The multi-phase project includes up to 70 new jobs, $40 million in investment and a significant addition to Winpak’s existing facility in Senoia. The company currently employs more than 140 workers at the facility.

“Winpak’s board of directors supported this strategic initiative to gain a foothold in a critical $800 million market. The company also recognized that skills required to implement the initiative existed at Winpak Films in Georgia. A key consideration was the invaluable support provided by the state of Georgia, the local development authority and local governments. Accordingly, our board approved the first phase of the project to proceed forthwith in Senoia,” said Bruce Berry, the company’s chief executive officer, when visiting the Senoia facility.

Winpak is a world leader in the manufacturing and distribution of high-quality packaging materials and innovative packaging machines that are sold in combination with packaging materials. The company’s products are used primarily for the protection of perishable foods, beverages, and in health care applications. The Senoia facility manufactures specialty films utilizing state-of-the-art multi-layer extrusion lines strengthening Winpak’s position in the niche films markets.

“This project has been one of the finest examples of a total team effort that I have experienced,” said Coweta County Development Authority Executive Director Bill Harrison. “Our entire community is proud and pleased to be chosen for this expansion project. Our Governor and our Department of Economic Development played absolutely vital roles in winning these new manufacturing jobs and new capital investment for our community.”
