Members of local Boy Scout Troop 309 recently went backpacking on the Appalachian Trail. They hiked a segment from Hogpen Gap to Poplar Stamp Gap in the north Georgia mountains. The outing stressed “Leave No Trace” camping methods, physical fitness and provided good Scouting fellowship.
