Fayette County Commissioner Robert Horgan has decided not to resign despite his arrest Saturday for smoking marijuana in his truck, which also had an expired tag. Horgan, who had not spoken publicly about the incident, broke his silence Thursday night as he briefly addressed citizens attending Thursday night’s commission meeting. Commission Chairman Jack Smith said the county was unable to get some information for a homeowner whose house would be eliminated as part of the alignment. Also, that homeowner, Randy Blount, was unable to provide some information to the county as well, Smith said. WCTC Foundation receives 38 acres for new campusWest Central Technical College Foundation announced Tuesday that it had received a 38-acre land gift from Orchard Hills Golf Properties, LLC valued at $1.7 million. The property is located off I-85 near the future Poplar Road site of Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Initial funding for the building program could come in next year’s legislative session. Coweta graduation 09More than 1,250 Coweta High School seniors are expected to participate in graduation ceremonies, held Thursday, Friday and Saturday on the campuses of Coweta County high schools.
