November 7 will be the date for the American Cancer Society’s 7th Cattle Barons Ball. This year the total money raised to support research, prevention, and treatment will top one million dollars. Fayette County businesses and citizens have been very generous in their support for this boot stompin gala every year.

The ball this year, which will be held at the newly built Dolce ballroom, will be chaired by Jean McCollum. Jean is a 16 year cancer survivor, and has been involved in raising money to fight this invasive disease. She has been on the Cattle Baron’s Ball committee since the beginning in 2002, and has done the three day Susan Komen breast cancer walk. She truly feels a dedication to the cause and even in lean times knows that cancer does not take a year off. Advances in education and prevention are key in our fight against cancer.

“Together as a community we can continue to raise money to fight cancer. Everyone has been touched by this disease and we know we can count on our community help eradicate cancer for generations to come,” Jean states.

The money raised by the Cattle Baron’s Ball will stay in Fayette County and will assist with the treatment of patients and provide support for them. Tickets and Sponsorship information are available on our website www.baronsball.com
