The Square Foot Ministry 2007 Blitz Build, which had to be postponed, has now been rescheduled for Feb. 16 - 23, 2008. The group will build a two-bedroom house for a single mother and her handicapped daughter in Griffin.

The Rev. Jerry Yates of Newnan has been nominated as Male Vocalist as well as Acoustic Artist of the Year in the third annual Momentum Awards sponsored by IndieHeaven, the leading organization supporting Independent artists in Christian music. Awards will be presented at the Christian Independent Alliance (CIA) Summit 2008 conference on March 29.

Introduction to Islam class planned at COS
Soumaya Khalifa will lead a class at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church Sunday, Jan. 20, introducing Islam and her life as an American Muslim woman. Khalifa is involved with the interfaith community of Fayette County, which named Christ Our Shepherd’s Sallie Satterthwaite “Bridge Builder of the Year.” The class will be held in the sanctuary from 9:45 to 10: 45 a.m. The church is on the corner of Ga. The youth sang Christmas carols and passed out bags of Christmas candy. Seth and Joy McGee, of Peachtree City, new youth leaders at CTK, accompanied the group and Sean McGee, Newnan, accompanied the singing on the guitar.
