Flat Creek sponsors fall trip to New EnglandThe B-Acts group (seniors age 50 and older) from Flat Creek Baptist Church is offering an eight-day trip to New England this fall with stops in various towns in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Virginia. Home base for the trip will be the Mariner Motor Lodge in West Yarmouth, Mass., with overnight stays on the way up and back at the Best Western of Fredericksburg, Va. However, from Jan. 18-28, ten members from Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and one member from Peachtree City United Methodist Church experienced first-hand what La Iglesia Metodista en Cuba (The Methodist Church in Cuba) is doing to spread the Gospel in that country. It says “unrelenting disappointment makes you heartsick.” We have all had them. Things that we thought would happen that never happened. In fact, the greatest source of pain in our life comes from expectations that we have that we never see come to pass. Wesley’s Walk for Others is a walkathon for North Georgia UMC ministries such as Project Extend, which provides home repairs and maintenance of lower income older persons living independently, and Wesley Community Centers, a service to help homeless women get back on their feet. |
