A ten-week series, “Reading the Bible Well,” starts Wednesday, Jan. 30, at National Heights Baptist Church and will cover such topics as the history of the Bible, the history in the Bible, how archeology enlightens our understanding of the Bible, and how our culture informs the way we interpret the Bible. The series will be led by Dr. Steve G. deClaissé-Walford, pastor of National Heights and for the last ten years adjunct professor of religion and philosophy at Shorter College and Mercer University. The classes, each about 45 minutes long, will start at 7 p.m. each Wednesday preceded by a fellowship meal at 6 p.m. (visitors eat free), and a brief prayer and praise fellowship. Call the church office, 770-461-1704, for further information and reservations. Located at 103 Old Norton Road, Fayetteville, National Heights is a progressive, moderate congregation in the Baptist tradition. login to post comments |
