Open house planned at OLM
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School will have an open house Sunday, Jan. 27, beginning with Mass at 10 a.m. in the chapel. The open house will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Families can learn about programs offered by the school and visit with faculty members. The school is at 861 Ga. Grace Church ministry trip planned
On Jan. 27, the worship team at Grace Evangelical Church will travel to downtown Atlanta and minister to the people at Jesus Place, an inner city church mission ministering to the homeless. In addition to leading a worship service, the team will take donated work clothing needed by men. Donations of new and used men’s work pants and jeans (any size, especially 32 length and longer), jackets, work boots and tennis shoes may be dropped off at the church. COS to host parenting class
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will host a “Value Packed Parenting” class exploring seven timely lessons for today’s parents Sunday mornings Feb. 3 through March 16, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. The church is on the corner of Ga. Flat Creek to host dinner, Beth Moore conference
Flat Creek Baptist Church will host its third annual Taste of Heaven Dinner and Beth Moore DVD Conference on Feb. 8 and 9. The dinner begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 and will be followed by session one of “Loving Well,” a DVD conference by Beth Moore. Saturday will begin with a Pilates exercise time at 8 a.m. The conference will begin at 9 a.m. and will include three sessions of “Loving Well” and a cookie and coffee break. Grace Church to host ‘Walk thru Old Testament’
Grace Church will host a Walk Thru the Old Testament seminar, taught by Steve Castlen, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8-9. The seminar is claimed to be the most popular Bible-based seminar in the world. The seminar teaches how to learn and remember the major people, places, geographical movements and events of the Old Testament. It also shows how to grasp special messages and meanings from Old Testament characters, themes, places and events. Cost, per person, is $15, with a maximum of $45 per family. Children 9 years old and up will enjoy participating. Childcare will be provided for children birth through 8 years old, with advance registration. Driver safety program offered
National Heights Baptist Church will sponsor the Driver Safety Program (AARP 55 ALIVE) Tuesday, Feb. 19, and Thursday, Feb. 21 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The course provides updates on rules of the road and techniques for adjusting your driving to age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time. Auto insurance companies offer a discount to those who complete this training. The cost is $10 payable on the first day.
