Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will host a “Value Packed Parenting” class exploring seven timely lessons for today’s parents Sunday mornings Feb. 3 through March 16, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Topics will include:

• The ten best gifts you’ll ever give your kids — becoming a better parent;

• How to listen so kids will talk and how to talk so kids will listen;

• Discipline and punishment — why teaching and learning are better than punishment and penalties;

• Ten ways to improve your child’s self-confidence;

• Observing the warning signs before tempers flare;

• Birth order and what you need to know about it — recognize your children’s differences and turn them into advantages;

• Standing up to the new Goliath — helping kids overcome the negative influence of the Internet, the media, and technology.
