Congratulations to all the kids in Fayette County who made All State this year. By my count( which could be low if anything) we as a county put 24 kids and 6 alternates into the All State program this year. Way to go kids, we're proud of you. Once a music director from Ga.State called our county band land, and she was right.

I come yet again with my hat in hand, asking for your help. Back in the fall I asked my friends here on the C to send birthday cards to a very sick little girl, Taylor Hulsey. The campaign for cards was a great success and she received around 500 cards and had many days of joy opening her cards. I'm asking now that when you send out your Christmas cards, send one to this little girl and make her and her mother's day. This is one very brave child and to meet her is to love her. Her story is below and again I ask you to please send a card to Taylor.

In one Hell of a game FCHS knocks off Luella in a come from behind victory, down 21-7 in the late third and early fourth quarter the Tigers reared up and scored 21 straight points to lead the Lions by 7. Mounting a drive late in the fourth, the Lions come back and tie the game with 51 seconds left forcing an overtime. After a scoreless first overtime both teams score TD's in the second OT with Luella missing the PAT and the Tigers converting for the win.

And so do the bands, good luck to all the teams and bands as they start their new seasons. Glenn Griffin, coach of MacIntosh HS, very good luck to you in your sophomore season, I hope you win all but one game and I think you know which one I'm talking about.

My friends, as most of you know I lost my sister almost a year ago to cancer and we lost the Wulfman to this disease also. I have a friend I went to school with who has a 10 year old child that has a tumor on her brain stem and has had repeated doses of chemo for the last couple of years. The courage of this child and her mother while facing this dreaded disease is just phenomenal. Little Taylor is having her 11th birthday nest month, the day after one of her chemo treatments, so she can't even have any friends in for a party to celebrate this milestone. Her mother has asked that as many people as possible to mail this child a birthday card, she asks for no money, or presents, or anything like that, just a simple birthday greeting. I know how giving the people here on the C can be so please in the spirit of the Wulfman send a card to a little girl and brighten a day for this kid. The address is as follows: Miss Taylor Hulsey

We attended a reception for the kids and their parents last night at McIntosh High School. What I didn't realize was that it was also an award ceremony for the kids who have made it this far. Our county has 65 kids in the program at this point and I think it speaks volumes about our schools and about our kids that we can have this large a contingent with only 5 high schools involved.

Has anyone heard about a fight where the kid of a certain state official was suspended Friday? I heard this from my kid

Harps Crossing Baptist Church, 7pm, FCHS Wind Ensemble and Chorus will perform their Festival of Carols. Last year was my first one and I was blown away by these kids.

Saturday, October 25,FCHS stadium, first band starts at 1PM and continues for 15 more bands and an exhibition by Georgia Southern's marching band.
