Pray for Taylor part 2

This was sent to me by another high school friend and it explains better then I can what this little girl is going through,,,,

Hello Family & Friends!
I am working on a Birthday Card Campaign for a very special friend of mine.
Many of you already know of Taylor Hulsey. Taylor is the only child of my high school friend, Vicki Perusse Hulsey. She is a precious 10 year old girl who loves all things pink & purple, Hannah Montana, Taylor Swift, the Jonas Brothers and Alan Jackson. Taylor was diagnosed February 2007 with a Glioblastoma Multiforme which is a cancerous brain tumor. The tumor is located where the brain stem feeds into the spinal cord so it is inoperable. She has completely lost the use of her left eye and after a 15 day coma she awoke having lost her ability to speak. She is unable to stand or walk. She can still smile and it touches my heart deeply when she does. Taylor goes to Scottish Rite every couple of weeks for Chemo infusion treatment. The hope is to crack into the hard exterior of the tumor and attack the cancer. So far there has been little change in these past two years, which is good and bad...the tumor isn't rapidly growing, but has yet to shrink either.
Vicki is a single mother and has been unemployed since Taylor's diagnosis. They gave up their home to move in with Vicki's parents. Vicki promised Taylor that she would never leave her, so she has been unable to work outside of caring for Taylor.
Taylor's Birthday is August 14th. She will have Chemo on the 13th so her immune system will be compromised and she will not be able to have anyone in on her birthday. My hope is for Taylor to receive as many birthday cards as possible. For those of you who'd like to send a gift, it would be greatly appreciated. For those of you who are able and would like to make a donation I will list the bank information below.
Please forward this on to your friends, family, coworkers and co-worshipers. Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information.

Please send a birthday card to help brighten Taylor's special day to:

Donations may be made to: (Make sure to write For Vicki Hulsey's account in the notation area)

Subject: Taylor Hulsey's 11th Birthday!

Oh my goodness friends! The outpouring of cards and gifts has been overwhelming! We had a wonderful celebration on Thursday at Scottish Rite, right up until the chemo caused her 'konk' out! She opened as many gifts as she could and then slept through the chemo. She awoke today feeling excited and remarkably well and opened more cards and gifts today! Thank you all for your thoughts, gifts and your well wishes..You all helped to make her birthday such a memorable WEEK!
Turn on the Braves game on Sunday evening and you might catch a glimpse of Taylor in the CHOA hospitality tent..I am so proud to say that Taylor invited my husband and me as her special guests.. so keep an eye out for us in right field...Taylor will probably be wearing her new Alan Jackson T-shirt and hat that he sent her for her birthday...as for me, I will be wearing a big ear to ear grin and looking extra proud and pleased as punch to be her special guest!!
Peace!

Thank You my friends on the "C" for helping out here. This child and her mother go through hell in every treatment Taylor gets, and they do it with grace and style and good humor. I hope to one day be as brave as little Taylor .

Can we take a gift to the hospital? If so, with whom do we leave it? Or would it be better to leave it at the Newnan address? Thanks.

For what it's worth, I'm thinking the house would be best, she's home now, barring further complications. There's a Facebook site "Pray for Taylor Hulsey" that has updates on her condition. Thank You also for caring.

When you happen to be on Facebook...please send me a request to join the Pray For Taylor Hulsey site. I would like to join so that I can see the updates on her.

I have several "thinking of you" cards and will send one periodically & also a birthday card on her birthday.

Bless her heart.

Here's a couple of updates on Taylor:

From: Vicki Perusse Hulsey Taylor is overwhelmed with the birthday mail she is receiving. Thanks to everyone who helped out. She is having a ball opening a few at a time. I love to see her so happy. It brings me joy to know that the world is still a good place . GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

From: Vicki Perusse Hulsey Taylor received a package from her idol ALAN JACKSON. It was a necklace and earrings made from his guitar picks. Also a signed photo wishing her a happy birthday. A shirt and cap as well. She'll probably wear that to chemo on Thursday

Thank you from me to all who help make a little girl happy.
