Cancer Fundraiser

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 3 from 2:00-5:00pm for the St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser at 57 Fighter Group Restaurant, 3829 Clairmont Road,
Atlanta, GA 30341 right next door to Peachtree DeKalb Airport. I am looking for volunteers to SHAVE THEIR HEAD to raise $ for childhood cancer research! Men, Women, Teens & Kiddos come shave your head in honor or memory of someone who has touched your lives with their cancer journey. Also needed: Lots of people to come donate, support and cheer your friends on as they have their head shaved! St. Baldrick's motto is: "SHAVING THE WAY TO CONQUER KIDS' CANCER"

I will be one of those who will shave their heads. I do this in honor of my sister Cathy, who I lost to cancer, I do this in honor of loveptc, who at this time is fighting cancer, I do this also in honor of little Taylor Hulsey, who at 11 years old is fighting for her life in a deadly battle with cancer. Please come out that Saturday and watch the hutch become follicly challenged and maybe donate some hard earned money to this great cause. The people here on the "C" have helped me help Taylor before, most recently at Christmas. The gas cards and checks were most welcome and I can't express my appreciation to you enough. Please come out and help all the little children in their fight for their lives.
Thank You Friends,
hutch

P.S. I also have a great big honking beard that will go at the same time. (But the 'stache stays.)

St. Baldrick's hope's for each shavee to bring in $50 in donations, I would like to do ten times that and bring in $500 (after all, with my beard, that's a double header ain't it?) So if you'd like to donate to this worthy cause let me know, I'd be glad to meet you anywhere you like to receive your donation. Also for a dollar a pop afterward, I'll let you rub the hutch's bald head for luck.

PS. March 27th is the last Saturday in March, I'm calling a coffee for that day, with the hopes of collecting some money, and letting people see just how shaggy I'll be before they shave me. I'm pretty fuzzy now, in a month I'll be impressive.

That is a wonderful thing you're doing. As you know my husband died from cancer.
I can't shave my head but I will support you, and donate money in my husband's memory.

You are a great friend to Taylor and her mom.

You're one of the good guys, Hutch. I hope this fundraiser is a hugh success! I lost 3 family members to 3 different cancers in the last couple of years. I won't be getting my head shaved, but I promise to find someone who will.

Maybe we can move the next coffee up so that we can see what you look like with just a 'stashe.

It's little enough to do for such a good cause. When my sister died, MYTEMITE made a donation in my sisters name to a cancer cause, and she didn't even know me. It so touched my heart that even today I get that man sweat in my eyes when I think or talk about it. If we all do just little, it adds up to a lot. Thanks for the compliment.

My dad lost his sister two years ago last month to colon, bladder, and liver cancer. He still misses her too. Aunt Sam was diagnosed when I was expecting my son...whom I named Sam after her (well, her and Samuel Clemens). Her name was Samaritan Gay - the name suited her well, for she was a good samaritan and always happy even when she was the sickest. I truly empathize with your loss and know that the hurt never really goes away. I am so sorry.

We will all do what we can to support your cause. I can't say that I'll shave my head; but, better yet I'll grow my hair out to donate to "locks for love". Smiling

It's true the hurt never goes away, but you find ways to deal with it, and this is one of my ways. The last couple of years I've been cutting my hair down to an inch anyway, so really, whats another inch for a good cause. I'm looking for donations for that day so as the day grows closer and if Seasons will let you, put out a jar on the bar, or at least make Tim and Jean donate every time you see them. I'm even willing to give you a picture and you can say, what's it worth to clean this fool up. As for the locks of love donation, I'm sure they would be proud to wear your hair, it would make a very pretty wig.

BTW, Tim is at Wings and Things again tonight, get there early, If I'm there (depending on the roads) We'll make a spot for you.

I doubt we'll be able to make it tonight. My husband is working overtime again this weekend (fantastic!!) and will probably be pretty tired when he gets home. Also, we usually only get out when my folks offer to take the kids for the weekend. Otherwise, I don't ask them. We would love to go another time. Does Tim play every Saturday or every other Saturday?

About Season Tickets, I'll ask Brook, the manager. If nothing else, they may let you advertise the event.
