The Fayette County School Board will hear reports Tuesday night pertaining to the school year and extended school days.

Also at the meeting, the board will hear a financial report and is expected to consider a Reading/Language Arts textbook adoption and render a decision on the relocation of the Facilities Services department to East Fayette Elementary.

The meeting will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the central office location at 210 Stonewall Avenue in Fayetteville.

I am not in favor of a longer day for the high school kids. This will mean merging middle and high school kids together on the buses. This was already a policy years ago and it was done away with for a reason! Some people are saying the high school kids will have a 1 hour lunch. That's ridiculous! If anything, get rid of the "planning/homework" time at the end of the middle school day and shorten the days - if the BoE is going to insist on putting middle and high school kids together on the buses.
