Armed robbers in the IHOP restaurant parking lot in Fayetteville Sunday night did not make it out of town before being nabbed by police. Two men and a woman were arrested after their vehicle was spotted by an officer on the way to the scene.

Twenty-six-year-old Dandre N. Pottninger of Hampton, 26-year-old Zakee S. Tolbert of Riverdale and 21-year-old Debrona Zyethia Freeman of Lithonia were all charged with robbery, possession of a handgun during the commission of a felony and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, according to Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw.

The robbery occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m., Crawshaw said, when a gray Dodge Charger pulled into the parking lot, a man jumped out and, at gunpoint, demanded items from the two victims.

Officers responding to the scene observed a gray Charger and stopped the vehicle, said Crawshaw. One of the vehicle’s occupants fit the physical description and was wearing clothing also described by the victims, Crawshaw said. The victims also provided officers at the scene with a description of the jewelry and a cellphone that had been stolen, Crawshaw added.

A search of the vehicle revealed a chrome handgun, the cellphone in Freeman’s purse and a bracelet that fell out of the lap of one of the occupants as he exited the car, Crawshaw said. A small amount of marijuana was also found in the console area, he added.

Shame we can’t use those big old sturdy oak trees on the court house square to get crime under control.

Now that's about a dumbazz comment, not useful to anyone. Maybe you could volunteer some of your obvious spare time to help the FCSO do some things.

Let's see. We have Mr Lynching up on this blog and anti-Mexican dude on the other. Do you think either has done anything to serve or protect our country? I doubt it highly.

Just saving the county money from housing all the thugs that come here from other counties, I guess you never read the crime report because you're too busy cooking fries at Wendys. Oh and by the way two tours where I bet you would never go.

To use the word tours is to imply the deployment into a combat zone. I will take you at your word of two tours to a combat zone. As such you have taken one or more oaths to support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Since you have taken those oaths, how can you advocate the type of vigilante, illegal, immoral violence that you do? To lynch someone, and I assume that you save your lynching for black men-you seem to have that vibe, is to go outside of the constitution and completely disregard its preceps. To advocate that type of just is to besmirch the service that you admit to have rendered. Your words dishonor your service and your tours of duty. As a veteran, I am ashamed of you.

Good Job to the FPD and other officers involved. No Doubt they will receive 20 years through the Fayette Court system...As a retired cop myself, Things out there are worse than in my time. What people don't know is that Officers killed in the line of duty in the US is up 90% since the same time last year. I think we have lost 23 since Jan. 01-10 and thats way too many. We can blame partly to our Leaders that waste so much Pork Money in the Congress. There are no jobs and people are turning to crime instead. Stay safe outh there brother officers, and remember the old saying " better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6"...To all the liberals who want to take our guns away....walk a day in the police officers shoes and you just might change your mind when you see the real truth of how hard the job is.

I remember the days when I could go anywhere in this county at night and feel safe...those days are long gone. Glad to hear they caught the jerks who did this.

Thanks goes to FPD, but the victims had to act rapidly as well. Quick thinking on their part.

Hampton, Riverdale & Lithonia??? Why can't these thugs play in their own backyard instead of coming over into ours? I'm just happy that no one was hurt & that these losers were caught before they could do it again to someone else & possible hurt or kill someone. It's so sad that we can't even feel safe anymore.

They come to Fayette because this is where the money is. I too am thankful that no one was hurt and that we have a diligent police department.

Great job by the Fayetteville police department in catching these no-good, slimeballs. Our citizens should not have to fear for their lives from a bunch of no-good thugs.

These cretens should be put away for life.

Thanks to the FPD - more THUGS are in jail. It's a full time
job keeping the criminals out of Fayette County. Good Grief. Sad
