The Tinsley Mill subdivision off Flat Creek Road near Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City is no stranger to flooding from heavy rains. That familiarity returned Sunday night when 10 homes were evacuated as flood waters once again swept through the area.

Peachtree City spokesperson Betsy Tyler said the evacuation of residents in the 10 homes began at approximately 6:30 p.m. Emergency crews will wait until it is advisable to have people return to their homes, she said.

National Weather Service radar was still showing some rain bands moving into the area at 9:15 p.m.

Tyler said the maximum height of the waters was chest height in the lowest lying areas of the subdivision situated just west of Lake Peachtree.

How many times has this happened since these homes were built? I know it is more than a couple. You would think they would get a clue that this may not be the best place to have a home. How hard is it to sell these homes, with the flooding history, I wonder?

No kidding! I'm going to have to rethink flood insurance on my house.
