Rotary donates to Boy Scouts of AmericaThe Rotary Club of Peachtree City shows their support for the Boy Scouts organization by donating funds with a check presentation at a recent luncheon. Rotary is a volunteer organization of 1.2 million business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and help build goodwill and peace.The Rotary Club of Peachtree City, chartered in 1967, is the oldest service club in Fayette County. Seymour says Fischer Crossing still on trackFischer Crossing developer Scott Seymour says the payment now due one of the three parcels included on the large retail development at Ga. Highway 34 and Fischer Road in east Coweta will be resolved by the end of the month. Bank of Coweta last week called in the loan on the parcel situated in the northeast corner of the retail center. Work on the other two parcels will begin before the end of the year, Seymour said. Coweta 2009 budget up for vote next weekCoweta County commissioners Sept. 16 held a public hearing on the county’s proposed $60.5 million General Fund budget that will take effect beginning in October. The increase of approximately $900,000 in the proposed 2009 budget represents an increase of just over one-percent. Commissioners are expected to adopt the budget Sept. 23.
